FAIRFIELD, CT – Police fatally shot Christopher Andrews Tuesday morning after the 51-year-old lost his damn mind and attacked his family with a baseball bat.

Police were called to the home early Tuesday morning after a young female inside the home called to report a domestic incident.

When police arrived on the scene they were confronted by Andrews, a partner at Manhattan law firm Andrews and Andrews, who was armed with a knife. An officer shot and killed Andrews when he refused to listen to commands.

“We actually came to the home and one of our officers was immediately confronted by an individual who would not comply with any demands to stay where he was,” said Lt. James Perez, Fairfield police. “That individual made a lunge at our officer, our officer in self-defense, fired.”

Inside the home, police would find Andrews’ family members in various rooms suffering from a myriad of beating and stabbing injuries.

According to reports, Andrews first attacked his wife and inflicted severe stab and blunt force wounds to her face. He then used the bat to hit his 12-year-old son in the face before attacking his 13-year-old daughter. He tried to hit his 15-year-old son with a baseball bat, but the boy was able to wrestle it out of his father’s hands.

Andrews’ wife and three children all had to be taken to the hospital, where his wife was listed in critical condition. His youngest son had to be air-lifted to Yale-New Haven Hospital with critical injuries.

Friends and neighbors are left reeling from the news, stating it’s hard to process that the man they knew would be capable of the violence he’s been accused of inflicting on his own family.

“They were really good friends with a whole group of other neighbors; they spent a lot of time together. It was just a really nice family, really nice guy and it’s all very confusing,” said Shari Nerreau.

“It’s unbelievable, hard to believe. It’s impossible to believe. They’re very nice people, kids are great,” said family friend Steve Bogan. “I was just with him a couple of days ago and they were as happy as could be.”

So, let the speculating begin.
