BELPRE TOWNSHIP, OH — Police arrested 46-year-old Kimberly Hammond after she beat her husband with a baseball bat because he didn’t get her anything for Valentine’s Day.
Police were called to the Hammond’s home on Valentine’s Day and found John Hammond with “scratch marks on his face, sore ribs and a large knot on the back of his head.”
The injuries, according to John, were from his wife attacking him with a mini baseball bat and repeatedly kicking him in the ribs as he was semi-conscious.
When police asked Kimberly for an explanation, she told them she had watched a marathon of The Walking Dead the night before, then drank eight beers that morning.
She became increasingly upset about it being Valentine’s Day and not having received a present from her husband… so she gave him the what-for.
Police arrested Kimberly on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence. She took a Breathalyzer test while at the jail that revealed her blood alcohol content was .221. She was released the next day.
According to the couple’s son, his mother “gets mad easily” when she’s been drinking.
